It is September 11, 2006. Exactly ten years ago I came to Japan. Five years ago 9-11 occured. A century ago on this day (Sept. 11, 1906) Mahatma Gandhi began his program of non- violent resistance. Gandhi said, " War and its glorification of brute force is essentially degrading. It demoralizes those who use it and insults all standards of morality. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. "
